Personal project

2017

Self published book exploring relations between narrative and the physical space on the page.

In 2016, my graduation project at FAU-USP consisted in a study of the comic language and of how that fell into the realm of graphic design, using the physical space presented on a given page (or, why not, the book itself) to present comics as an art form in itself (in opposition to what is commonly done— defining it as a subcategory of plastic arts or literature). The project culminated in this self published book (officially released July 2017), with 60 copies made as a trial run and a further 100 copies made as a 2nd edition.

The book is currently sold out with the author, with favourable reviews from the São Paulo-based independent comic book store Gibiteria and the last available copies to be found at UGRA Press' website. Currently there is only a Portuguese edition, an English one to be released late 2018. There are no digital versions as the story's climax was made specifically with a paper book in mind.
